This vintage confit pot with lid is a beautiful example of French terracotta pottery in an unusual bronze glaze.Confit pots or jars were originally used to preserve cooked meat in its own fat. Only the interiors and the top half of the jars were glazed, and the bottom was wrapped in cloth and buried in the ground up to the glaze line.
